Warren,

Agreed. Pierre will be gone very soon. The best barometer will be how well our MPs sleep starting tonight. They want to dream of pensions. It's in their hands, not his. Push him out now or face the fatal electoral consequences.

Warren,

About Pierre, please let me put it in what I would call Kinsella terms: if Bernier did all the right things politics and personal-wise, would Warren Kinsella (or anyone else) seriously consider voting for his party if they weren't already in the bag? That's it, in a nutshell. In the end, Trump is an important but nonetheless secondary consideration. I can't get that in most people's heads.

Not at this moment. Trump is the only consideration. Everything is framed around that. Carney read that, seized it and will never let go.

I still think Poilievre's best moments lie after the Trump madness has concluded. He just needs to wait it out.

A Liberal Majority is the best thing Poilievre could ask for. It gives his party a time out to regroup and get it together.

I'm as hard ruby red as they come, but even I know Carney's numbers are ridiculous. They will even out in 2028 and people will tire of 13 years of sad old Liberal stories.

Poilievre just needs to keep the Tories at around 30-35% to be in striking distance and that's all…

But they couldn't seal the deal at the convention in Montreal, so the planned crossover did not take place in the end.

Warren,

You're forgetting the crossover momentum that Carney wants to keep coming. He wants ten more CPC MPs to cross now. That's why a pause is not in his interest. Once the CPC loses all three byelections, then Pierre is done as dinner as leader. He wants a weak CPC in disarray as we go to a fall election.
