Why is Palestine Action allowed to operate in Canada? Why?
It’s an important question. A British court this week heard about what Palestine Action did on August 6, 2024. On that date, red-suited members of Palestine Action broke into Israeli-owned Elbit Systems in Bristol, England. They’d broken in using a decommissioned prison van as a battering ram, in the middle of the night.
The prosecutor, Deanna Heer KC, told Woolwich Town Court: “Inside the warehouse, they set about destroying as much property as they could. They used crowbars and hammers to damage computers, equipment, drones and other products Elbit had manufactured.”
At some point, the police and security arrived. Sgt. Kate Evans was one of them. A big Palestine Action member, 23-year-old Samuel Corner, targeted Evans while she was on all fours on the ground, trying to arrest someone. She had her back turned to him. Corner started attacking Evans with his sledgehammer, and brought it down on her twice, crushing her spine.
Evans survived, but remains unable to do her job like she once did. She is in continual pain. Much later, at trial of Samuel Corner and the others, the Palestine Action members stepped away from their lawyers and addressed the jury. “I can say with absolute certainty that this is the best thing I have ever done,” one of them said. They were proud.
They were all swiftly convicted of causing criminal damage. Corner, for his part, was found guilty of inflicting grievous bodily harm on Sgt. Evans.
In the U.K., Palestine Action have been understandably designated as a terror group. And now they’re active in Canada - and they’re making news here, too.
For reasons that have not been explained by anyone in authority, Palestine Action are not considered a terror group by our government. The Carney Liberals have shown no inclination to designate them as one, either.
