I packed for a trip to the Middle East

...and I think I may need to unpack. I very much doubt our press mission is happening, at this point.

I'd still go, in a New York minute. But - as I've experienced before - airlines are going to start cancelling flights and it's going to be hard to get there, and even harder to get out.

So, prayers for Israel, and prayers for the people of Iran. And we wait.

Warren,

Why this will fail miserably in one sentence: because this isn't Kuwait.

We wait, indeed. We wait to see whether the entire Middle East will descend into chaos, discord, and massive death.

It's nice to think this exercise will "liberate" Iran, or whatever excuse is being put forward, but it seems recent history has been forgotten (a la Afghanistan, et al). You simply swap one autocratic brutal regime for another.

This was a huge mistake, but a very useful distraction for the atrocious leaders of Israel and the U.S.. They both have big problems on the domestic front, so like all leaders through history, when you have domestic problems you start a war. And many in the population jump on the flag-waving bandwagon, right on cue.
