The Jew-hate campaign is working - and why

The purpose of propaganda, Aldous Huxley once said, is to make one set of people forget that another set of people are human.
That has been Hamas’ purpose, as well - aided and abetted by Iran, China, Russia, Qatar and a ghastly array of antisemitic NGOs, charities and non-profits throughout Western democracy. To demonize, isolate and ultimately erase the Jewish state.
At the same time, the propaganda campaign’s goal has been to persuade the gullible that Jews are fascistic, colonialist, genocidal practitioners of apartheid. The new Nazis, in effect.
They have succeeded beyond their most optimistic projections. All over the world, polls show a shocking number of people now believe the worst of Jews and the Jewish state. Antisemitism is more open and pervasive than it has been at any time since World War Two.
There have been murders of Jews, firebombing of synagogues, elementary schools shot up, death threats, assaults. Political leaders in the West have increasingly turned against Jews and the Jewish state - just this week, Alberta’s NDP leader actually issued a public statement, apologizing for being photographed with Israeli’s ambassador to Canada. A Jew.
Much of the animus has come from the political Left, yes. But, increasingly, antisemitism is surging across the ideological spectrum - on the Right and the so-called political Centre, as well.
On Wednesday, more than 100 Democratic congressional representatives voted to stop providing $3.3 billion dollars (U.S.) in security assistance to Israel. Despite pleas from the House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries, Democrats - including Jeffries’ second-in-command and minority whip - voted against the Jewish state. The measure ultimately failed, but the Democrats’ growing opposition to Israel was now out in the open.
On the same day, Republican Vice-President JD Vance appeared on a three-hour episode of Joe Rogan’s podcast. Vance stated that deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein “clearly had connections to the highest levels of Israeli intelligence.”
Jews and Israelis who opposed Vance’s enthusiasm for Donald Trump’s ludicrous and dangerous deal with Iran could “go to Hell,” the Republican said. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “not a particularly popular person in the United States,” Vance sniffed. “There are some people,” Vance added, clearly referring to Jews and Israelis, “we know beyond a shadow of a doubt, who are manipulating and trying to change American public opinion to keep the war going on indefinitely.”
“There’s a literal foreign influence campaign being funded to tank the very deal that I was pursuing.”
All of this - wealthy, anonymous Jewish interests “manipulating” public opinion and funding a “foreign influence campaign” to wage war - is the sort repulsive fabrication we have heard many times before. From the Ku Klux Klan, from neo-Nazis, from Holocaust deniers - and, of course, from Adolf Hitler’s propaganda minister Josef Goebbels himself.
