FRANKIE VENOM, 1957-2008

I'm getting ready to do Newsworld for the last U.S. Presidential debate, and I just got word: Canadian punk legend and Teenage Head frontman Frankie Venom has died.

I am stunned by this, as my band - SFH - was backing for Frankie in Hamilton just a few weeks ago, and we had a great old time.

When the thunder and lightning started up, Frankie declined to go back onstage with us: "If I'm going to die, I'm going to die with my own band."

His band was Teenage Head, one of the greatest rock'n'roll acts to ever come out of Canada. What a huge, huge loss.
